About Yedican Group
Steve Yedican brings nearly 30 years of industry experience to the table. His speciality lies in using a wide array of life insurance products to provide his clients with tailored estate plans and focused wealth management.
Steve earned a post-graduate degree in Computer Science at the University of California, Merced. Prior to that, he completed his bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance at the University of Ankara, Faculty of Political Science (Mülkiye). After his post-gradate studies, Steve lived in Istanbul until 1980, when he moved to Canada along with is wife, Funda, and infant son, Sarp.
Not long after immigrating, Steve faced the steep learning curve of the two-year Career Program at Mutual Life of Canada, at the time one of the largest Canadian life insurance companies. After its successful completion, he went on to win a National Quality Award in 1981, and later earned a spot on the Million-Dollar Round Table, at that time the highest award for production in the industry.
Steve spent his high school years attending the Turkish Naval Academy in Istanbul, where the highly-regimented life taught him the value of discipline and the importance of close-knit relationships. Likewise, Steve considers his clients to be family, and believes that a close relationship is imperative in order to give the right advice.
It wasn't until age 45 that Steve found a pursuit outside the financial services industry — golf. Encouraged by a member of his client family, he ended up liking the sport so much that he now spends weekends during the summer on a golf course.
Sarp Yedican entered the financial services industry in the summer of 2001, while still in his second year at the University of Toronto. He first joined the French Client Services team of CI Investments, and after completing his undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Economics at U of T, he joined Yedican Group in the spring of 2002. While under his father's tutelage, Sarp went on to ob- tain both his Life Insurance and Mutual Fund Licences, and now specialises in investment products and wealth management.
Sarp has also built close alliances between Yedican Group and professionals from adjacent industries. By using specialists in Real Estate, Accounting, Law, and Mortgage Financing, he is able to provide Yedican Group clients with a service that is truly tailor-made.
In his leisure time, Sarp enjoys mountain-biking with his wife Leyla, as well as training and competing with his local Masters-level swim team.

After twenty years as a Business Analyst in the IT industry, Funda Yedican was ready for a change. She joined Yedican Group in 2002 and hasn't looked back. In a short period of time, she has revamped our database system, built a digital imaging library for client files, and increased overall productivity by automating many processes such as the creation of customised Client Investment Summaries. Not only is Funda integral part of our back-office administration, she is also fully licensed to sell Life Insurance Products (LLQP).
